A narrow trade, done properly
Electrics and air conditioning only, since 2017. No mechanics, no bodywork, and nothing poured into a system in place of a repair.
We came to cars from generators
This workshop started on island generators and boat electrical systems, and everything about how it works came from there.
A generator on an island cannot be repaired by fitting the most likely part and seeing. You are three hours by boat from a parts shop and the whole island is waiting, so you measure, you eliminate, and you do not touch anything until you know. That habit turns out to be exactly what a car with an intermittent electrical fault needs and almost the opposite of how a busy garage is paid to work.
So we charge for the hours rather than the parts, and the consequence is the thing customers remark on: we are perfectly happy for the answer to be cheap. About one fault in six here turns out to be an earth strap, a corroded connector or a relay, and those are the faults a parts driven workshop cannot afford to spend an hour finding.
The narrowness is on purpose too. Electrics and air conditioning, nothing else. There is a mechanical workshop two plots along and a good body shop ten minutes away, and a written note to either of them is a better service than us having a go.
What we hold to
Nitrogen before gas
No system is refilled until it has proved it can hold pressure for an hour.
Nothing poured in
No leak sealants and no stop leak, at any price, to anybody.
Stop and ring
A sheared bolt or a broken connector stops the job until you have the new figure.

Book an hour of looking
A named fault and a written answer, and one price to put it right before anything is ordered.
