Send us a request and we will confirm it. Nothing is paid online.

What it costs

No charge Per person

Volunteer days, clean up mornings and briefings cost nothing. Reserve a place so we know how many people to plan for, and tell us if you cannot come, because a place on a boat that nobody uses is a place somebody else wanted.

Donations reach us by bank transfer to the account on the donations page. Send the reference to the office afterwards and we email a receipt with our own reference on it. Nothing is collected on this website, there is no card payment here, and nobody from the foundation will ever ask you for money in a message you did not start. If somebody does, it is not us, and we would like to know.

There is no recurring giving arrangement, because we have no way to take one. People who give every month set up a standing instruction at their own bank and tell the office, which works perfectly and costs us nothing to administer.

A seat at the fundraising dinner is reserved here and paid by transfer within five days. The seat is released after that, and the office will tell you before it does.

Goods are as welcome as money and often more useful. Bring them to the store on a Saturday morning rather than posting them, and read what we can and cannot take first, because sending back what we cannot use costs the foundation money.

Two and a half hours on a stretch of beach and the shallow water off it, with gloves, bags, water and a weighing scale, because everything collected is weighed and written down before it goes to the waste site.

The weighing is not for a web page. It goes into the record we hand to the island council with the same figures every time, so that a council can see whether a stretch is getting better or worse over two years. A number nobody writes down is a morning that only made the volunteers feel useful.

Open to anybody. Children are welcome with a parent who stays for the morning, and the shallow water part is optional and always supervised by two adults who can swim. Nobody goes past their waist and nobody dives for anything.

Wear shoes you can get wet, bring a hat, and expect to find the same four things everywhere: bottles, bottle caps, fishing line and slippers. We bring the gloves and the bags. Reserve a place so that we bring enough of both.
