The ratio has never changed
Shamrath grew up on this island and opened the centre in 2016 with one boat and a decision that has cost money every busy week since: four students to an instructor, and a course that takes a fifth day if a student needs one.
We have watched people walk down the road to a centre that could take them the same day. We have also handed back a deposit and told somebody to come again next year, twice, and both of them came back.
The reason is simple and it is not about us. A certification does not stay on this island when the diver leaves. It follows them to the next centre and to the one after that, and it is the only thing anybody there will know about them.

A written emergency plan
Naming the nearest chamber, the time to reach it and who is called first. It is on the wall and nobody ever asks.

So nobody finishes a dive on gear they are unhappy with.

Elena Marchetti
Teaches most of the open water courses. Will happily give you a fifth pool session and does not charge for it.
Ahmed Sinan
Runs the pool sessions and the compressor. Keeps the service cards and will tell you when a regulator is past saving.
