Nakaiy Permit Advisers Work permits, visas and employer quota, with a checklist you can see from your phone
About

An office built around one page of paper

Four advisers, one checklist per worker, and a standing refusal to promise an outcome.

Why we started

Eleven years of compliance work on the employer side taught one thing that never varied: the worker almost never knew what was in their own file.

They knew what they had handed to somebody, usually in a plastic folder, and they knew that a fee had been paid to somebody else. When a file came back they had no way of telling whether a document was missing, a rule had been misread, or an agent had simply never submitted it. That last one is more common than anybody likes to say.

So the office was built around the checklist. One page, per worker, dated, emailed, naming every document and who issues it. It makes us easy to check, which is the point. A client who holds that page can go to a different adviser entirely and be no worse off.

The other rule is that we do not touch government fees. Ever. Money for a government fee goes from the client's own account to the government account with the client's own reference, and we look at the receipt together. It occasionally loses us a client who wanted the convenience. It has never once lost us a client who wanted the money back.

The advisers

AN

Aishath Nazima

Founder and adviser, work permits

Eleven years in employer compliance before opening this office in 2021. Writes every checklist that leaves the building.

MF

Mohamed Faseeh

Adviser, employer quota

Spent six years registering and staffing resort projects, so he knows what a quota looks like when it has been read wrongly.

HR

Hawwa Reesha

Adviser, dependants and renewals

Keeps the renewal diary and does the family files. Speaks Dhivehi, English and enough Bengali to be trusted with a difficult afternoon.

Conduct

What we will and will not do

Can you act for me if my employer already uses you

For ordinary permit work, yes, and most of our files are exactly that: an employer paying and a worker whose papers we prepare.

In a dispute, no. We will not act for both sides, and if a disagreement appears partway through we tell you both and step back from one side. You are told which side and why, in writing, the same day.

What does the work cost, and when do I pay

Appointments are paid at the desk when you arrive and you get a numbered receipt. Work on a file is quoted in writing as a fixed figure for a named outcome, half at the start and half when the permit or visa is in your hand.

There is no hourly rate and no open ended retainer. If the job turns out to be bigger than the quotation described, we come back to you with a new figure before doing any of it, and you are free to stop.
