A shop carrying four detergent brands in nine sizes, holding money in all of them and selling mostly one.
We cut the department to two brands in five sizes, chosen from the shop's own sales rather than from our list, and put the money saved into a third shelf of household plastics. The department looked fuller afterwards, which surprised the owner, because nine half faced lines look worse than five that are properly stacked.
Margin on cleaning went up by about a fifth, and the freight for the department went down because the sachet lines that never sold were the bulkiest thing in it.
