The shelf behind this counter holds thirty eight materials and all of them are open.
Come on a weekday morning and somebody will take you through them. Blotters first to narrow it down, then two or three on your own skin, because a base oil smells different on everybody and that is the whole reason we do it in that order.
There is no charge for this, you are not expected to buy anything, and a good number of people come twice before they blend. We would rather that than a blend chosen in a hurry that sits in a drawer at home.
One caution. After about twenty minutes your nose stops telling you the truth, and after forty it is useless. When that happens we stop, and we will say so rather than carrying on selling to somebody who can no longer smell.
