Every figure on this site is a target and a state, updated by hand, with the date it was last confirmed printed beside it. Seven of twelve schools, and the date the committee agreed that. Nothing here counts itself.
We do not print a running total of money raised. The only money figure anybody here can stand behind is the one the treasurer has closed a month on, and a number on a web page drifts away from a set of books within weeks. Ask the office, or book half an hour with the treasurer, and you will be given the last closed figure and the date it was closed on.
We also do not say that all of your donation reaches an island, because it does not. Freight, fuel, the store rent and the bank's charges come out of it, the treasurer will tell you roughly what share that is for a given campaign, and the closed accounts are read out at the dinner every year with questions taken from the floor.
No figure on this site has been audited, and we will not describe any of it as audited. When that changes we will say so and name who did it.
