Certain projects and certain goods attract an exemption or a concession, and the two mistakes importers make are assuming one applies and assuming none does.
We look at the project, the goods and the approvals, and we tell you plainly whether there is an exemption to apply for. Where there is, we prepare the application with the schedules and the quantities properly itemised, because an approval for a list is only useful if the goods that arrive match the list.
An exemption also carries obligations afterwards. Goods brought in under one are usually restricted in how they may be used or disposed of, often for years, and the records have to exist. We keep those records and remind you before a deadline rather than after.
Where no exemption applies we say so on the first day. A project budgeted on a concession that does not exist is a budget that fails in month three.
