A pharmacy ordered a small consignment of monitoring devices from one supplier. It arrived by courier as a single parcel worth less than most of our port files, and it contained three separately controlled things: the medical devices themselves, a small refrigerant charge in one unit, and a radio transmitter in another.
A parcel like this ordinarily sits for weeks, because each permission is applied for after somebody discovers it, in sequence.
We had the airway bill and the invoice five days before it landed, which was enough. All three applications went in together rather than one after another, and the declaration was ready before the parcel was.
Cleared in three working days. The fee was our fixed courier rate, which is a fraction of the port fee, and the pharmacy has sent us every airway bill on the day of shipping since.
