Six hours a week for eight weeks, eighteen to a group, for front desk, housekeeping, restaurant and boat crew. Taught here rather than at a property, because a class in a staff canteen loses half the room to an operational emergency every session.
The content is the job: repeating a booking back correctly, the twelve sentences a housekeeper needs, describing a dish without guessing, the vocabulary of a complaint, handing over a shift, and the gap between what is polite in Dhivehi and what is polite in English, which costs staff more than their grammar does.
Rotation is handled rather than ignored. Every week runs on three different days and a staff member attends whichever falls on a day off. A missed week is picked up in the next intake's matching week at no charge.
