Fehivalu Guest House Fourteen rooms on Fuvahmulah, six minutes from the airport and ten from Thoondu

Four of us, fourteen rooms, one island in the open sea

Built in 2021 on family land in Dhadimagu, for the people who actually come here.

Why we built it this way

Ismail spent eighteen years on cargo boats and came home to build a guest house on his family's land. The plan at the start was the usual one: paint it blue, put a picture of a beach on the website and wait for holidaymakers.

That is not who was getting off the plane. It was divers with wet kit and nowhere to hang it, engineers with laptops and no desk, and families from Malé who needed a room that slept five and could not find one. So the house got built for them instead: a covered rack and a rinse tub outside every twin, a socket beside every desk, two rooms that take five people and their bags, and a kitchen that will cook dinner when the town has shut.

We are still four people. Ismail meets the late flight when Naseem is off, Rugiyya answers the email and runs the kitchen, Shareef drives, and Nazima keeps fourteen rooms and the salt water washing honest.

Why we built it this way

Three things we will not do

Promise you an animal

The current and the weather decide what is out there. Any guarantee is a lie told before you unpack.

Soften an answer about the sea

If today is not a day for swimming we will say so, even when it costs us the goodwill.

Take your money on this site

There is no card payment here. One night by transfer holds the room and the rest is paid at reception.
