What it costs

⃂ 400.00 Per person

We hold the room the moment your request arrives and we write back the same day, usually within the hour while reception is open.

Nothing is paid on this website. There is no card payment here and there never has been. What confirms a room is a transfer of one night to the account we send you, and we email a receipt with our own reference on it the same day the money lands.

The rest is settled at reception when you arrive, in cash or by card. An office booking rooms for staff can have an invoice in the office name instead, carrying whatever reference the office needs, and pay after the stay. Ask for that when you send the dates rather than on the morning you leave, because it is a different piece of paper and it takes us a day.

A room held with no transfer is released after three days. We write to you before it goes, not afterwards.

You sit in the back of a pickup with a bench and a roof on it, and we go round the island slowly with the sides open. Four hours, seven people at most, and it stops wherever somebody wants to stand and look at something.

The two freshwater lakes and the mangroves around them, the taro fields, the tall trees at the north end that nobody expects on an island this far south, and Thoondu, where the beach is round white stones instead of sand and the swell comes straight in off the open sea. Water and a mango are carried along.

This is a drive and a walk, not a boat trip and not a swim. Wear something you can get dusty and bring a hat, because there is no shade in the taro fields at all.
