What it costs

Nothing is paid on this website and no card details are asked for.

The fee for the appointment is paid at reception when you arrive, in cash or by card. It covers the time with the doctor and nothing else: any test, dressing or medicine is charged separately and only after the doctor has explained it and you have agreed to it.

If you hold health insurance or a scheme entitlement, bring the card and your identity card to reception before the appointment rather than after it, because what can be claimed has to be recorded at the start.

Twenty minutes rather than fifteen, because a child who is frightened takes five of them to sit still and that time should not come out of the consultation.

A parent or guardian stays in the room for the whole appointment. Bring the child's vaccination card if you have it and the name of anything they are taking, in its own box rather than from memory.

We do not have a paediatrician here and we do not claim to. These appointments are with the same family doctors, and when a child needs a specialist the doctor says so in the appointment and writes the letter.
