The fee for the appointment is paid at reception when you arrive, in cash or by card. It covers the time with the doctor and nothing else: any test, dressing or medicine is charged separately and only after the doctor has explained it and you have agreed to it.

If you hold health insurance or a scheme entitlement, bring the card and your identity card to reception before the appointment rather than after it, because what can be claimed has to be recorded at the start.

A thirty minute appointment with Dr Shifa, who is here on Sunday and Tuesday evenings. The booking form only offers those two evenings, which is not an error: it is the honest shape of a clinic where one doctor holds this list.

The room is at the end of the corridor rather than off the waiting area, there is a female nurse in the building at all of those hours, and a chaperone is offered for any examination without you having to ask.

If the two evenings are full and the matter will not wait, ring reception. They will tell you what is free, and if the answer is a hospital rather than this clinic they will say that instead of booking you in.

The fee is for the appointment and does not include tests or medicine.
