Two bulbs, because they fail within weeks of each other.
A pair of halogen headlamp bulbs in the common fitting.
Sold in twos on purpose. Bulbs that were fitted on the same day tend to fail within a few weeks of each other, and the second trip costs more in your time than the second bulb does.
