Buying a machine over months rather than in one payment, and how we deal with it honestly.
There is no calculator on this website. We were asked for one and decided against it, because a calculator has to assume a charge, a term and an approval, and a shop that invents all three has produced a number that flatters itself. What we do instead is answer the enquiry properly, by hand, the same working day.
Send us three things: which machine, the deposit you can put down, and the number of months you want. You get back a written breakdown showing the board price, your deposit, the balance to spread, the pure monthly division at that term, the fees that are genuinely ours, and a clear statement of which parts depend on a financier agreeing.
Here is the arithmetic on a page, so nobody has to ask for it in order to get started. A bike at 42,000 with a third down leaves 28,000 to spread, which is about 1,556 a month over eighteen months or about 1,167 over twenty four. A used hatchback at 210,000 with 63,000 down leaves 147,000, which is about 4,084 a month over thirty six. Those figures are the plain division and nothing more. They are the floor. A financier lending the money over that period will add a charge on top, and the real monthly figure is higher than these.
What we will not do, and you should be suspicious of anybody who does: quote you a rate as though it were current and ours, promise that an instalment purchase will be approved, or put a monthly figure on a poster without saying what it excludes. We do not set the charge, we do not make the decision, and we have no arrangement with any financier and take nothing from anybody for an introduction.
We will tell you which documents are usually asked for so you can arrive ready, and we will hold a machine for three working days while an application is looked at. If it is declined, your deposit was never paid to us and there is nothing to unwind.
