A level is the level at which where you live decides what you can study, and that is the gap this part of our work exists for. A student on an island with no physics teacher at this level has no local option at all.
We teach mathematics, physics, chemistry and business studies in groups of twelve, two ninety minute sessions a week, with a third optional problem session on Friday afternoon.
The teaching leans hard on unfamiliar questions, because the jump from O level is not about content. It is that the paper asks you to apply something you know to a situation nobody has shown you, and students who have only practised recognising question types are the ones who struggle.
Work is set weekly and marked by hand. At this level the marking is most of the teaching, and we would rather set less and mark it properly.
One thousand two hundred rufiyaa a month per subject. We also talk honestly about subject combinations and what particular university courses will expect, because that conversation is happening in most families with very little information in it.
