A customer arrived with a scent she had worn for years and had recently started reacting to, with a rash along the jaw and neck.
The first thing we did was tell her to see a doctor, because a studio is not the place to diagnose skin. She did, and came back with a short list of materials to avoid.
Her old bottle had no material list on it, which is common and is one of the reasons we print ours. So we worked from the other direction: we built something in the same family, avoiding every material on her list, and made it.
Three cycles and twelve weeks, because the first attempt was thin without the material doing the heavy lifting and the second overcorrected. The third was right. We charged for one build and two samples rather than three, because two of those cycles were us learning rather than her changing her mind.
