Nineteen people from three generations, booked because the grandmother was unwell and the family had realised they had no photograph of everybody together.
The shoot was arranged around her rather than around the light. She was seated the whole time, in the middle, and every arrangement was built out from her chair so that she never had to move between groups. Forty minutes instead of the usual hour, with the large group photographed first while everybody was still tidy and the smaller family groups afterwards.
A lady photographer took the session at the family's request and the studio door stayed closed. That was arranged on the telephone in one sentence when they booked and it needed no further discussion.
Thirty two edited photographs, an album of thirty pages, and four framed enlargements. The grandmother passed away the following year. The family have since ordered eleven more prints from the same set, which is the reason we keep files for two years and the reason we say so on the quotation.
