Cutting to size on a sliding panel saw, plus edge banding, drilling and grooving.
15 rufiyaa a cut, 8 rufiyaa a running foot for edge banding in matching tape, and 4 rufiyaa a hole for shelf drilling. A full wardrobe's worth of parts, cut and edged, is usually somewhere between 300 and 500 rufiyaa on top of the board.
Send a cutting list rather than a drawing if you can, with the grain direction marked where it matters. We will tell you how many sheets your list actually needs, which is frequently fewer than the number people order, because nesting the parts properly on a sheet is arithmetic and everybody does it in their head and gets it wrong.
The practical reason carpenters use this is not accuracy, although the cuts are square to the millimetre. It is that a lane in Malé and a stairwell in an old building will not take a full eight foot sheet, and a bundle of cut parts goes up the stairs while a sheet does not. Half our cutting work is for that reason alone.
Cutting stops at five o'clock, and a list of more than about sixty parts needs to be with us the day before.
