A fisherman, two boats and a board in the window
Running trips off Dhigurah since 2017.
We would rather lose the booking
Ismail fished this reef for eighteen years before there was a guesthouse on the island, and the habit that came with him is the one that matters most: the sea decides.
That is why the weather call is made at six in the morning and never argued with, why departure times move through the week with the tide, and why we publish how often the whale shark trip actually works. A guest who was promised a guarantee and saw nothing is a guest we lied to.
We have turned down charters on days we did not like the look of, and we have sent people to a competitor's boat when ours were full and theirs was going somewhere better. Neither has cost us anything in the long run.
The three of us and the crew
Ismail Faseeh
Fished off this reef for eighteen years before the first guesthouse opened. Makes the weather call every morning at six.
Shifana Adam
Runs the board in the window, answers the messages, and knows which ferry is actually running today.
Ali Nazim
In the water with every group rather than sitting on the boat. Finds the turtle when nobody else can.
