We started by fixing other people's weddings
For two years we were the person a family rang on the morning of the wedding. The business grew out of what kept going wrong.
Why we plan the joins rather than the parts
Most families in this country already know a caterer, a decorator and somebody with a sound system. They do not need us to find those people. What they have no way of arranging is the hour when all three are in the same courtyard trying to work.
That is where weddings go wrong here, and it is where we spend our time. The decorator needs four hours and access from the lane. The caterer needs the same lane at the same hour for a lorry. The sound crew needs power that nobody has worked out, and the family needs the courtyard for photographs before any of them have finished. Every one of those suppliers is perfectly good and none of them is responsible for the other two.
So we sequence it, we put it in writing, and somebody from here stands in the courtyard while it happens. Since 2018 that has been about a hundred and eighty six weddings and we have never once not turned up.
The second thing we decided early was to show what suppliers charge. A planner who takes a commission from a caterer has an interest in which caterer you use, and you will never be able to see it. Ours are quoted at what they charge us and our fee sits on its own line, which sometimes makes our quotation look more expensive than a rival's and usually means it is not.

How the day itself works
Will somebody from your office actually be there?
Two people, from the start of the build until the venue is clear. On a segregated function that is one coordinator on each side, and the ladies side is always a lady from this office.
You are given a number that is answered on the first ring, and it belongs to somebody standing in the building rather than in an office.
What happens if it rains?
Every outdoor function is quoted with a wet option and a decision time, usually four hours before guests arrive. At that hour we ring you, we both look at the same forecast and somebody makes the call.
The important part is that the plan exists in writing before the day. A conversation about rain at five o'clock with no plan is how an evening is lost.
Is alcohol served at functions you run?
No, at any venue, including venues that offer it. All of our caterers are halal.
That is the arrangement rather than a preference, and it is stated on every quotation so that nobody has to ask.
Come in and talk it through
The first meeting is free and takes an hour. Bring the family members who will actually be deciding.
