One person holding the whole evening together
Venue, haruge, decoration, catering, the schedule and the suppliers. We plan the ladies function and the mens function as two events with their own timing, because that is how most weddings here actually run.
Four things that are true of every wedding we run
Segregated functions planned as two
A ladies function and a mens function are two events, not one event in two rooms. Each gets its own schedule, its own entrance and its own coordinator, and the ladies side is run by a lady.
One written schedule
Printed for every supplier and for the family, with a time against every item and a name against every task.
Supplier prices shown as they are
Caterer, decorator, sound and photography are quoted at what they charge us, with our fee on its own line. No hidden commission.
A plan for rain, in writing
Every outdoor function is quoted with a wet option and a time by which somebody has to decide.
Six parts of a wedding, and the joins between them
Most of what goes wrong at a wedding happens where two suppliers meet. That is the part we are actually paid for.
Full wedding planning
Everything from the first meeting to the last chair leaving, from 35,000 rufiyaa for a wedding of three hundred.
Venue and permissions
Finding the space that actually holds your guest count, and getting permission for the haruge.
Decoration and the haruge
Stage, backdrop, drapes, seating and flowers, built to a time and struck the same night.
Catering coordination
Counting portions properly, arranging the serving lines, and making the caterer and the decorator agree on the lane.
Segregated functions
A ladies function and a mens function planned as two separate events, with a lady coordinator on the ladies side.
Day coordination only
You book everything, we run the day. 8,500 rufiyaa, and it is the best value thing we sell.
Recent weddings
Three hundred guests in a house courtyard, a segregated function for four hundred in a hall, and a whole wedding on an island with everything arriving by boat.
Three hundred guests in a house courtyard
A courtyard that held a hundred and forty seated, a guest list of three hundred, and the plan that made both true.
A segregated function for four hundred
Two functions, two schedules, two coordinators and two serving lines each, in one building on one evening.
A whole wedding delivered by boat
Two hundred and twenty guests on an island, with the stage, the lights, the generator and the ice all on one sailing.
Since 2018
What families said the next week
They planned the ladies side and the mens side as two separate weddings, and a lady from their office was on our floor all evening. I was never once waiting for somebody who was in the other room.
In the second week they put a tape measure on our courtyard and told us it held a hundred and forty, not the three hundred on the list. Hearing that in February instead of in June is what we paid them for.
The fourth version of the packing list had bin bags and extension leads on it. On an island with one boat a week those two lines are the difference between an evening and a disaster.
What families ask first
How far ahead should we book?
Four to six months for a full wedding, and longer for a date in the month after Eid. Those weekends are usually gone by February because we take one wedding per date.
Day coordination needs four weeks, which is the minimum we will accept for it. With less than that we cannot fix anything we find, and standing there watching is not worth your money.
What do you charge, and how?
Full planning from 35,000 rufiyaa for about three hundred guests, day coordination at 8,500 for one function or 13,000 for two, catering coordination at 6,500 and venue searching at 4,500.
The fee moves with the guest count and the number of functions, never with your budget. A planner charging a percentage of what you spend has an interest in what you spend.
Do you take commission from suppliers?
No. Every supplier is quoted at what they charge us and our fee sits on its own line on the quotation.
This sometimes makes our quotation look dearer than a rival's, and usually means it is not. If a planner's fee looks low, ask who else is paying them.
Tell us the date, the guest count and the plot
That is enough for an honest figure and for us to tell you whether the evening you are describing fits in the space you have.
Start with the date
The date, roughly how many guests, and whether the functions are separate. We reply the same day.
