Haruge Weddings Venue, decoration and catering, planned as one evening instead of five phone calls

A whole wedding delivered by boat

Two hundred and twenty guests on an island, with the stage, the lights, the generator and the ice all on one sailing.

A whole wedding delivered by boat

Two hundred and twenty guests on an island with one cargo sailing a week, which means the packing list is the whole job.

We built the list with the family over three weeks and then went through it a fourth time looking only for the boring items. That pass found extension leads, spare bulbs, cable ties, bin bags, a first aid box, two hundred litres of drinking water and the trestles for the hedhikaa table, none of which had been on any of the first three versions and every one of which would have been impossible to get on the day.

A generator went over with fuel for eleven hours against an event expected to run six, because the house supply on that island would not have carried the caterer's warmers alongside the lights. It ran for eight.

Two of us sailed the day before and stayed until the venue was bare. The family's only job on the day was the wedding, which is the entire point of hiring somebody.
