Questions we are asked often

Will my therapist be a woman

If you are a woman, yes. Two of our therapists treat women only and two treat men only, and we do not move anybody between them.

The booking form asks who the appointment is for. The confirmation email names the therapist, so you know before you arrive rather than at the door.

Do I have to undress

For an oil massage or a scrub, down to your underwear. You are covered with a towel the whole time apart from the part being worked on, and the therapist leaves the room while you get on the table.

For a facial or a foot massage, nothing comes off. If any of that is uncomfortable, book the dry back and shoulder massage, which is done through a sheet.

Can I book for today

Usually. The form holds appointments from two hours ahead, so the late afternoon is often free even on the same day.

Walk in and we will fit you in if a therapist is free, but on a Friday evening or a Saturday that is unlikely. The form shows what is actually open.

What do I pay and when

Nothing on this website. A single treatment is paid here on the day, in cash or by card.

The retreat room is half by bank transfer once we confirm, because the room is then held for a whole day and nobody else can have it. The rest is paid on the day.

What happens if I do not come

Tell us twelve hours before and there is nothing to pay. Inside twelve hours we charge half.

That is not a penalty for its own sake. The therapist has already turned down the hour and cannot fill it at an hour's notice.

I am pregnant. Can I book a massage

Ask your own doctor first, and tell us what they said when you book. We are not going to answer a medical question for you over a website.

What we can say is what we do: we will not book an oil massage in the first three months, and after that the therapist works on the side with you propped rather than face down. If you would rather wait, a foot massage or a facial is available throughout.
