This is the arrangement families ask about most, because a school of sixteen hundred can very easily become impossible to speak to.
Appointments. Ninety slots of fifteen minutes a week, with form teachers, heads of house and heads of department, bookable on this site or by telephone. Slots run through both sessions. A slot is usually available within four working days and always within seven. Nobody waits at the gate and nobody is turned away, which is what used to happen and is described on the work page.
Reports. A written report at the end of each term: a paragraph per subject in sentences, the attendance figure, and a note from the form teacher. Not a column of marks. It goes home with the child and is posted to any family that asks.
Between times. Write through the form on this site or telephone the office, always giving the child's grade and class. Anything for a form teacher is passed the same day. Anything urgent about a child in school should be a telephone call rather than a message, because a message is read once.
And the calls we make. Every unexplained absence, telephoned before nine in the morning session and before two in the afternoon. A subject teacher's concern, telephoned by the form teacher in the week it is raised. A child who is unwell, telephoned immediately, and nobody sent home without a family member coming for them.
