We set out, fix steel, erect shuttering and pour, with our own carpenters and our own steel fixers.
Steel is cut and bent at the Hulhumale yard to the bar bending schedule, in batches keyed to the floor it is going into. That keeps a site with no storage from becoming a steel yard, and it keeps the waste off your bill: buying full lengths and cutting them on site costs about five per cent in offcuts before anybody has made a mistake.
Pours are planned around the heat rather than around the working day. Concrete on site before eight gives the finishing crew a slab they can actually close, and a slab closed properly is a roof that does not weep in October.
