The fee shown is for the appointment: the time in the chair and the dentist looking at your teeth and telling you what they see. It is not payment for a treatment and it does not commit you to one.

Anything the dentist suggests is written down and priced before it is started, on paper you keep, and you are free to say no to all of it and pay only for the appointment. Payment is at reception when you leave, in cash or by card. If you hold dental insurance, bring the card to reception before the appointment rather than after it.

Twenty minutes, and the appointment to book if you are not sure which one to book.

What happens in it: the dentist looks at every tooth and at your gums, asks what has been bothering you, and then tells you what they have found in plain words. If something should be dealt with, it is written on a sheet with a price beside it, and you take that sheet home.

What does not happen in it: no treatment is started at this appointment unless you have read the sheet and said yes to it. Nothing is drilled, filled or taken out because it happened to be convenient while you were lying there.

The fee is for the appointment. It is not a payment towards a treatment and it does not commit you to one.
