Bakhoor is where people overdo it most, and the advice on the box is written for a large house with high ceilings.
In a flat here, a piece the size of a fingernail is plenty for two rooms, on a low heat, for about ten minutes with a window slightly open. What most people do is put on three times that, close everything, and then live with it in their clothes for two days.
We sell chips, pressed blocks and both electric and charcoal burners. For a flat with small children the electric burner is the sensible answer and we will say so even though the charcoal ones are prettier.
And a practical note for guesthouses: burning before guests arrive is welcoming, burning while they are in the room is not, because a proportion of people find it gives them a headache and none of them will tell you.
