The council hall seats three hundred and fifty and is booked at the front desk. Funerals and anything the mosque committee arranges have first call and pay nothing. A wedding or family occasion is seven hundred rufiyaa a day. School and community events are free.
The two football grounds are booked in two hour slots through the office. Island teams and the school have first call, the slots are free, and the council will not take a booking from outside the island over an island team.
Equipment: six hundred chairs, twenty tables, four tents and two sound systems. Chairs and tables are free to island households and to the school. A tent is one hundred and fifty rufiyaa because they need washing afterwards, and a sound system is two hundred and comes with somebody to set it up.
Book early for the school holidays and the fortnight after Ramadan. A booking is held three days without payment and then released to the next request, and the diary is at the front desk for anybody to look at.
