What we do
Everything we offer, with a page for each so you can see what is involved.
Household waste: three bags, two rounds
Food waste daily except Friday, recycling and general waste on alternate mornings, one hundred rufiyaa a month per household.
Harbour berths, dues and the loading slots
Thirty eight boats a week, a berthing slot booked through the harbour office, and dues paid at the council counter.
Heavy vehicles, lorry hours and the road rules
Where lorries and tractors may run, the hours they may not, and how to get a permit for a delivery outside them.
The covered market and the stalls
Twenty two stalls, a monthly rent of four hundred rufiyaa, and a waiting list that is published.
Letters, copies and the island register
Address and household letters, certified copies and letters of introduction. Twenty five rufiyaa, usually the same day.
Roads, lighting, drains and public areas
Report a fault and get a reference the same day. The crew works the list on Sunday and Wednesday mornings.
Plot applications and what the register shows
The council holds the record and forwards the application. It does not decide ownership and will not write a view about it.
The hall, the grounds and equipment
Bookings for the council hall, the two football grounds and the chairs, tents and sound system.
Not sure which one you need
Tell us what you are trying to do and we will point you at the right one.
