Why we do not open during the day
Reyge Kitchen started in 2021 because two of us were working nights and could not find anything to eat after eleven that was not a packet.
We are open from eight in the evening until three in the morning and we are shut for the other seventeen hours. People ask us constantly to open for lunch and the answer is always no. A kitchen this size has one set of hands, and hands that cooked lunch are not the hands you want frying at half past one in the morning. Doing one thing properly is the only advantage a small kitchen has.
Everything is cooked when it is ordered. Nothing sits under a lamp. That is the reason an order takes twenty five minutes rather than eight, and it is the reason we cap how many orders an hour can hold.
The hatch on the lane is open the whole time, and about a third of what we make is collected by somebody walking up to it. If you are nearby, that is faster and cheaper than delivery and it always will be.

Ahmed Zayan
Makes most of what leaves the hatch after midnight. If your burger arrives exactly the way you asked for it, that is him.

Takes the phone orders, matches the transfers and rings you when the rider leaves. She is also the one who says no at twenty to three.
Ali Shifaz
Rides the whole night and knows which lanes are shut after midnight, which is most of the ones you would choose on a map.
Getting it to you while it is hot
Where do you deliver?
Across Malé every night, and Hulhumalé until one in the morning. We do not deliver to Villimalé at night.
Charges are on the delivery page and they do not change with the size of the order.
Can I see where the rider is?
No. There is no tracking on this site and no map with a moving dot on it. We ring you when the food leaves the kitchen, and from the hatch to anywhere in Malé is under ten minutes.
If we are going to be late, you will get a phone call rather than a silent map.
What if nobody answers the door?
The rider rings the number on the order. If nobody answers he waits five minutes and then comes back to the kitchen with the food.
You can collect it from the hatch that night. We cannot leave hot food in a stairwell and we will not send it out a second time.
