A hospitality group closing one of its two sites had to reduce a workforce of ninety by twenty two, and had already told the staff before anybody rang us.
We started again from there. Selection was put on paper with the criteria written down before anybody was scored against them, consultation happened in meetings that were minuted, and every notice matched the contract it was given under. Four of the twenty two were found other posts inside the group during the process, which was not a favour to anybody: it was what the exercise was for.
No claim was brought at the tribunal. The group has since used the same documents twice more without us.
