Air freight into Velana is for three sorts of cargo: the thing that has broken, the thing that has a season, and the thing worth more per kilogram than the flight costs.
We book by the chargeable weight, which is the greater of the actual weight and the volume converted at the airline's divisor. That surprises people the first time a light bulky carton costs more than a heavy small one, so we work it out at quotation rather than at invoice.
Transit is usually three to six days from booking to the airport here, and the airport side is faster than the port: a clean file is often cleared the same day it lands.
We also handle the awkward end of air cargo. Batteries, aerosols, compressors with oil in them and anything with a data sheet need the right declaration or they get left behind at the origin, and being left behind is not something the airline tells you about quickly.
