A joinery shop rang us with forty sheets of 18mm melamine board they could not use. They had bought it elsewhere at about thirty rufiyaa a sheet less than our price, it had been stood on edge in a yard for a month, and every sheet had a bow across its width of between four and nine millimetres.
Nothing takes that out. A bow in a sheet can be pulled flat in a carcass if the carcass is rigid enough, which a wardrobe back is and a door is not, and the twenty two doors in that job were the parts they needed.
We supplied forty sheets from the middle of a stack, flat, and cut them to their list. They had lost twelve hundred rufiyaa on the original board and a week of their programme to save twelve hundred rufiyaa.
We tell this story to every new trade customer and we take them to the stacks. A sheet from the top of a pile is always flat. Ask to see one from the bottom.
