For anything large, light or heavy enough to make air freight absurd, we ship by sea in a consolidated container.
Sea is charged by the cubic metre, at four thousand two hundred rufiyaa, with a quarter of a cubic metre minimum. Furniture, mattresses, appliances, exercise equipment, bulk stock for a shop, tyres, building fittings. On a mattress the difference between air and sea is not a percentage, it is a multiple.
The trade is time. A sea order takes four to six weeks from the warehouse to your hand, because the container has to fill, then sail, then clear. We sail twice a month and we will tell you which one your order is going on.
It is also the right choice for a shop buying stock. A shopkeeper who flies their first order because they are impatient usually finds the freight has eaten the margin on the whole shipment.
Sea and air can be split. We do this often: fly the four things you actually need this month and float the rest.
