The work that keeps the shop open. A trouser hem is 50 rufiyaa, taking in a waist is 100, a full trouser zip is 120, and shortening shirt sleeves is 80.
Anything brought in before three o'clock is ready by eight the same evening. After three we will tell you whether it is tonight or tomorrow, and we will not say tonight and then not have it, which is the whole reason people walk past two other shops to get here.
What we will not do is pretend an alteration is possible when it is not. There is only so much cloth inside a seam, so a waist can usually come in four inches and out two. A jacket can be taken in at the sides and it cannot be made bigger across the shoulders. Bring the garment and we will tell you at the counter, before anything is unpicked.
Wedding and party clothes brought in on the day of the event are done first if we can do them at all. Say it is for that evening when you hand it over rather than hoping.
