Raalhu Trading Wholesale dry goods and household lines for island shops

Rice, flour and sugar

By the sack and by the pallet, in the grades island shops actually sell, with the price held for the month.

Rice in the long grain and short grain grades that sell here, wheat flour, and white sugar, all by the twenty five and fifty kilogram sack.

These three lines are where a shop makes least margin and takes most risk, because the price moves and a shop that buys badly in a rising month sells at a loss for six weeks. We publish one figure per grade per sack size on the first of the month and we hold it until the next list, so you can price your shelf and leave it alone.

For a full pallet the figure drops, and for a shop taking a pallet a month we will hold the pallet here and release it in halves. That costs you nothing and it keeps your cash out of a stack of sacks in a damp store room.

Sacks are shrink wrapped for island loading. Rice that arrives wet is a complete loss and it is always the cheapest thing to prevent.
