A dry store beside the harbour, six metre clear span, with a floor slab designed for loaded pallets and a forklift rather than for people.
The frame was fabricated at our yard, shipped in two loads and bolted up on site in eleven days. The floor was the part that needed the care: power floated in bays with the joints where the racking would not sit, because a joint under a wheel line is a joint that fails.
Roof and cladding detailing was specified for salt air at fifty metres from the water, which meant different fixings and a different coating from the same building put up inland. Nine months, and it is still the cheapest part of that client's operation to maintain.
