A small fish processor on an island with good product and a freight bill that made selling in Male barely worthwhile.
The fix was the return leg. Our boats were already sailing back with a part empty hold, so the space cost us very little and we priced it accordingly. What it needed from them was discipline about timing: product had to be at the quay at the hour we arrived, not an hour later, because a chilled load waiting on a hot quay is the whole problem.
We changed one thing on our side, which was to stop arriving in Male on a Friday evening with perishable cargo on board. The route was reordered so the chilled leg lands on a Wednesday.
They have shipped every week of the season for two years. This is the least dramatic job on this page and it is the one we are most pleased with.
