Nine sailings a week, and space for one box
We consolidate loose cargo and we carry full containers, from the T Jetty shed to thirty four islands. You can send a pallet or a shipload on the same sailing.
Four things we put on the booking note
A sailing day, not a maybe
Every route has a fixed day and a cut off at four in the afternoon before. If your cargo is in the shed by then it is on that boat.
One box is a real booking
Loose cargo is charged by the cubic metre with a one box minimum. You do not need a container to use us.
The paperwork done here
Manifest, loading note and a photograph of your cargo marked and stacked, sent before the boat leaves.
A name at the other end
We hand over to a person who signs for it. Cargo left on a quay is nobody's cargo.
Containers, boxes and bulk
Six ways to send something by sea, from a single carton to a shipload of aggregate.
Loose cargo by the cubic metre
One box or forty. We consolidate in the shed and you pay for the space you use.
Full containers to the atolls
Twenty foot containers, packed by you or by us, carried as a unit and landed sealed.
Scheduled sailings to thirty four islands
A fixed day per route and a cut off at four in the afternoon before. We sail full or not.
Bulk building materials
Cement, aggregate, sand and block, carried by the hold rather than by the pallet.
Collection in Male and loading
We fetch the cargo from your supplier, mark it, measure it and load it. You need nobody at the harbour.
Single job charters
A whole vessel for one load, for islands off the schedule or for cargo too large to share space with.
A normal week
Recent jobs
A harbour project, a shop group's weekly groupage, and a generator landed on an island with no crane.
Eleven hundred tonnes of cement for a harbour job
A harbour project supplied by the hold load against a pour programme, with nothing spoiled in the wet season.
A shop group's weekly groupage, four islands
Four island shops on one weekly booking, collected from six wholesalers and split in the shed.
A generator landed where there was no crane
Six tonnes on an island with a quay and no lifting gear, landed in one tide on a barge and rollers.
What shippers say
Nine months of cement and not one spoiled load. They rang us the evening before the sailings they held rather than the morning after, which is the only reason we could move the pours.
Four shops on one weekly booking. The freight came down about a fifth and the shops stopped running out, because the order arrives complete instead of in halves.
They charged us for a survey before they quoted the carriage, and six tonnes went ashore in one tide on an island with no crane. Cheapest money we spent on that job.
Rates, cut offs and what fits
What is the smallest thing you will carry?
One box. Loose cargo is charged by the cubic metre or the tonne with a one box minimum, and we quote it the same way we quote a pallet.
A shopkeeper who needs one carton of spare parts on an island should not have to find a whole pallet of other people's goods to travel with.
When do I have to get cargo to the shed?
By four in the afternoon on the day before your route sails. Cargo in the shed by then is on that boat.
Anything later goes on the next sailing and we will say so at the counter. We would rather tell you on Tuesday than have you assume for a week.
How are rates worked out?
Per route, per cubic metre or tonne for loose cargo, per unit for containers, and per tonne for bulk materials. We hold published rates for the quarter.
For a charter we quote one figure for the round trip with crew, fuel and loading in it, rather than a rate with a page of extras underneath.
My island is not on your schedule. Can you still help?
Ask. Some islands off the schedule are reachable by reloading onto another operator at a hub island, which we arrange and charge as a handling fee.
Where the volume is there, a single job charter is often better value than people expect, and we will do the sum honestly rather than talking you into a boat you do not need.
Who ships with us every week
Tell us the island, the volume and the week
Three facts and we will give you the sailing day, the rate and the cut off. Quotations come back the same day.
Book a load or ask about a route
If your island is not on our schedule, ask anyway. We charter for a single job when the volume is there.
