The third floor is a separate ladies floor, screened from the street and the stairwell, with its own entrance, its own changing room and prayer space, and its own set of equipment.
It is ladies only from nine until twelve and from three until six every day, and from nine until eleven on Friday. During those hours there is no man on the floor, no man at the desk and no man in the stairwell: the trainers on duty are women and so is the person who checks you in.
This is a permanent arrangement rather than a class slot. Six hours a day, every day, which is what makes it possible to train regularly around school, work and a family.
The floor has a full set of free weights, machines, cardio and a studio for the ladies classes. It is not a smaller room with three treadmills in it, which is what a ladies section usually means, and if you have been disappointed by that elsewhere, come and look at this one before you decide.
Membership is the same seven hundred and fifty rufiyaa a month. There is no separate charge for the ladies floor and never has been.
