About sixty of our members are over fifty and a number are training after an injury or an operation. Both groups are well served by a gym and badly served by a gym that treats them like everybody else.
For anybody coming back from an operation or a significant injury we ask for the physiotherapist's or the doctor's plan, and we will speak to them directly with your permission. We do not write a rehabilitation programme ourselves. What we do is deliver theirs properly, with a trainer present, and report back to them.
For older members starting from nothing, the programme is mostly the same as anybody else's and the difference is the pace of progression and a good deal more attention to balance and to getting up and down off the floor.
The quiet hours are the useful ones here. Eleven in the morning and two in the afternoon, when the floor is nearly empty and a trainer has time.
There is no separate price for this. It is a membership and, usually, a few one to one sessions to start.
