The layout is worth more than the visuals and people believe the opposite. Furniture drawn at its real size on a real plan answers the questions that decide whether a room works: whether a door opens onto a bed, whether two people can pass behind a dining chair, whether the sofa somebody has already bought actually fits. We have redrawn a lot of rooms around furniture the client had already ordered, and we would rather know about it in week one.
Visuals are useful for one thing, which is agreeing what something will look like before money is spent. They are also easy to make flattering, so ours are drawn from a standing eye height at a real position in the room rather than from a corner at ceiling level with a wide lens, which is what makes a small room look generous in a render and disappointing in life.
For a guesthouse we will do one room properly and then repeat it, which is how eleven rooms cost less than eleven times one room.
