The hardest part of sending a phone off an island is not the sending. It is the fortnight of not knowing.
So every job here has a reference in the form RPS 2026 0077 and a link of its own in your confirmation email. Nobody can guess the link and nobody else is given it. Open it from anywhere and the page tells you which of three things is true. Pending: we have your request and have not started. Confirmed: we have accepted it and your phone is either in the shop or in the box. Completed: it is back on the counter with your name on it.
We will not pretend it is more than that. It does not track the boat, it does not report what the workshop did this afternoon, and there is no picture of your phone on a bench in Malé. It is one page that is right whenever you look, including at night, including from another atoll, and that turns out to be the thing people actually wanted.
We also ring you twice: once with the workshop's figure before they start, and once when the phone is back in the shop.
