Report a fault through the form on this site, by telephone, or at the desk. Give the street and the nearest building rather than an address, because that is how the crew will find it.
Everything is logged with a reference the same day and sorted into two lists, and the honest difference between them matters.
The ward list: street lighting on the forty one streets, drain covers and gully clearing, footpath slabs, benches, the play area equipment, railings, and anything the ward's own small works budget covers. The crew works this list on Sunday and Wednesday, and most items are done within the week. A part that has to be ordered adds a fortnight and the desk will tell you.
The city list: the carriageway itself, the main drainage network, tree work over three metres, and anything structural. The ward sends it to the city the same week with the details and its own note, chases it on the first working day of every month, and records each chase in your file. That is the whole of what this office can do on a city fault and we would rather say so than let you think a reference number means somebody is coming.
One thing that works better than anything else: a street committee reporting the same problem with dates and reference numbers gets a city fault moved up. Eleven streets have used it and nine of them got the work.
