What we do
Everything we offer, with a page for each so you can see what is involved.
Resident parking permits
One hundred and fifty rufiyaa a year, one per household with a registered vehicle, renewed in the first three weeks of January.
Address letters, household letters and register copies
Twenty rufiyaa, over the counter, usually in ten minutes. The fastest queue at the desk.
Registry corrections and changes of address
Moving in, moving out, a name spelled wrongly, a household split. An appointment job, twenty minutes.
Lighting, drains, footpaths and small works
Report it here with the street and the nearest building. Ward faults in a week, city faults chased monthly.
Waste bags, collection times and building waste
Bags from the desk at four rufiyaa each, collection six evenings a week by the city contractor, and a separate arrangement for rubble.
The community hall and the two play areas
Three hundred rufiyaa a day for the hall, free for funerals and school use. Play areas open dawn until ten.
Street committees and how a street gets something changed
Eleven of the forty one streets have one. They are informal, they cost nothing, and they are the most effective thing in this ward.
Construction, hoardings and the footpath
What the ward can do about a site blocking a footpath, and what belongs to the city's building office.
Help with a form, and the older residents desk
Thursday mornings, no appointment, somebody to sit down and fill in a form with you. Free.
Complaints, including complaints about this ward
In the book, numbered, answered in five working days, and a complaint about a member goes to an open meeting.
Bookings, payments and the Saturday desk
What can be paid, when the counter is open, and why Saturday is letters and payments only.
Not sure which one you need
Tell us what you are trying to do and we will point you at the right one.
