Before anything is made, somebody comes and measures properly.
For a quotation we work from your photographs and measurements, which is enough for a price. Before manufacturing, one of us comes out with a laser and a steel tape and produces a drawing with the real dimensions on it: 900 rufiyaa, and it comes off the price of the job.
We measure in three places, not one. A wall at floor level, at worktop height and at the ceiling, and the diagonals of the room. In Malé the three widths differ by between five and twenty five millimetres, routinely, and the whole design of the fillers and scribes comes out of knowing which way it goes.
And we measure after the flooring is finished and the wall tiling is set out. This is the one thing we will not compromise on, and it delays jobs and occasionally annoys people. A kitchen made to a drawing and delivered to a room with fifteen millimetres more floor tile than planned is a kitchen sitting fifteen millimetres too low under its own worktop, and there is no fix for it.
The drawing is yours whether you order or not. Several people have taken it elsewhere, which is their right.
