Fitted furniture made for the room it is going in
Kitchens, wardrobes, doors, vanities and shelving. We measure after the flooring is down, we build in sections that fit up your stairwell, and the people who made it are the people who fit it.
Four things we insist on
We measure after the tiles
Not from a drawing. A finished floor is never where the drawing said, and a kitchen ordered before the tiling is a kitchen with a gap under it.
Built to fit up your stairs
A two point four metre wardrobe will not go up a Malé stairwell, so it arrives in sections and is assembled in the room.
Marine ply where it gets wet
Sink units and bathroom vanities are marine ply, not commercial ply and never MDF. It costs more and it is the difference between six years and two.
The makers fit it
No subcontracted fitters. The two men in your flat are the two who built the job, which is why a wall out of square is solved rather than argued about.
Six things we build every month
Priced by the running foot so you can compare quotations honestly, with the materials named rather than described as high quality.
Fitted kitchens
From 3,800 rufiyaa a running foot for base and wall units, with marine ply under the sink and soft close hardware throughout.
Wardrobes and fitted storage
From 1,450 rufiyaa a running foot in melamine, three weeks, built in sections that fit up your stairs.
Doors and frames
Flush doors from 1,900 rufiyaa, frames from 850, hung and adjusted rather than delivered.
Bathroom vanities and wet areas
Marine ply only, from 2,400 rufiyaa a running foot, with the plumbing cut out before the finish goes on.
Shop and office fitting
Counters, shelving, display units and reception desks, built to survive being leaned on.
Repairs, alterations and refinishing
Doors that catch, drawers that stick, hinges that have rusted, and kitchens worth saving.
Recent work
A kitchen in a flat with no lift, eleven wardrobes for a guesthouse between seasons, and a set of doors for a house where no opening was the same size.
A kitchen for a flat with no lift
Twenty two feet of kitchen carried up five floors in sections, with a worktop that had to come up a stairwell in two pieces.
Eleven wardrobes for a guesthouse between seasons
Eleven rooms fitted out in nineteen days on an island, with everything cut here and assembled there.
Nine doors, no two openings the same
A house built in 1996 where every opening was a different size, and why standard doors would have been more expensive.
The workshop in numbers
What customers say
They came and measured my stairwell before they designed the kitchen, and built it in eleven pieces instead of seven. The shop that quoted cheaper had refused to look at the stairs.
Eleven rooms in nineteen days on an island, and they worked room by room so I kept two rooms letting the whole time. They also put stainless hinges in without me asking why.
I had decided to replace the kitchen. They looked at it with a torch and told me the carcasses were sound, then refaced it for a third of the price and wrote down how long it would last.
What people ask first
How do you price a kitchen or a wardrobe?
By the running foot, so quotations can be compared honestly. A kitchen from 3,800 rufiyaa a foot with laminate faced doors and from 5,600 sprayed. A wardrobe from 1,450 in melamine, 2,200 with laminate faced doors and 3,100 sprayed. Worktops are quoted separately.
Ask anybody quoting you what is inside that figure: the carcass thickness, whether the back is housed or pinned, and whether soft close hardware is included or an extra.
Why will you not measure from my drawing?
Because a finished floor is never where the drawing said it would be, and a kitchen made fifteen millimetres too low under its own worktop cannot be fixed.
We measure after the floor tiles are down and the wall tiling is at least set out. It delays jobs and it is the one thing we do not compromise on.
Do you charge for the survey?
900 rufiyaa for a measured survey and a drawing with the real dimensions on it, and it comes off the price if you order.
The drawing is yours either way. Several people have taken it to another workshop, which is their right.
Send us the room, not a picture
A photograph of the space and its measurements gets you a real figure. We will come and measure properly before anything is cut.
Tell us about the room
What you want made, roughly how big the space is and when the flooring will be finished. We reply within a day.
