The reference on your order is the only thing tying a transfer to a basket. Here is what to do with it, and what happens if you forget.
Everything ordered on this site is paid by bank transfer, and the order waits until the transfer shows. That surprises people who are used to paying a rider at the door, so here is how it works and why.
When you place an order you get a reference that looks like a short code. Transfer the total to the account shown with the order, and put that reference in the remarks. That is the whole job. The reference is the only thing linking a payment to a basket, and a transfer arriving with no remark is a transfer we cannot match to anybody.
If you do forget, send us the slip on WhatsApp with the reference typed underneath and we will match it by hand. It takes a minute and it is not a problem. What is a problem is a transfer we cannot identify sitting in the account while a customer waits for a delivery that has not been released.
Why not take cards? Because the arrangements for that are not sensible for a shop of this size in this country, and a card page that is not properly run is worse than no card page at all. Why not cash at the door? Because one person does the deliveries and an evening of collecting cash in stairwells slows every stop and eventually goes wrong.
So it is transfer, before the van. The shop counter is a different matter. Walk in and pay however you like.
